PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture absorbing and releasing material of which the moisture absorbing velocity and the moisture releasing velocity are rapid and which does not cause the configurational modification due to moisture absorption and releasing, and is excellent in fluidity as powder because the material is almost spherical. SOLUTION: The moisture absorbing and releasing material is characterized by being comprised of porous particles of which the number average particle size is 1-30μm and the BET specific surface area is 100-80,000 m<SP>2</SP>/kg.
