<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing as much as possible generation of inconvenience caused by using a recording medium of such a kind that is not appropriate to an apparatus when a recording medium with an identification information is used as the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatuses 220 and 230, identification of a sheet with an RFID is performed, and when this sheet with the RFID is such a sheet that is one other than a recommended sheet, an error ratio of the sheet corresponding to the sheet is acquired, and whether the acquired inconvenience generating ratio is larger than the threshold value A or not is judged (step S705).
