PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate repeatable run out(RRO) without causing the instability of a servo system. SOLUTION: An HDD 1 is equipped with a peak filter 234 in the feedback path of a servo system. The peak filter 234 is designed so that its frequency of revolution and its high frequency component and its peaks are matched with the frequency of revolution and its high frequency component of a magnetic disk. The HDD 1 becomes possible to compensate the RRO resulting from deviation from the complete roundness of tracks by inserting a prescribed peak filter in the servo system. Moreover, the HDD 1 becomes possible to compensate the RRO without causing the instability of the servo system by the peak filter by allowing the Nyquist's diagram of the system to satisfy a prescribed characteristic.
