A PROCESS FOR STRENGTHENING CRANKSHAFTS

A process for strengthening crankshafts, mainly those of high-strength cast-iron comprises tempering 50-70 % of surface of cylindrical part of every shaft spindle using the laser ray with forming the strengthened area which consists of spiral bar and two circular bars located each at the distance of 2-4 bar widths of the laser strengthening of fillet. At that running-in is performed with the form roller.
