The present invention concerns devices used for monitoring vital statistics of an individual. The present invention includes a catheter for insertion into the trachea or the esophagus of a patient that is equipped with a plurality of sensors. The catheter may comprise a feeding tube for insertion into the esophagus of an infant such that the infant may be selectively fed while a number of physiological measurements are taken and monitored by healthcare professionals. The invention has an advantage of being consolidated into a single non-invasive, non-intrusive unit, and therefore is less harmful to patients, easier to deploy, and more cost effective.
