<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protection device capable of protecting a pedestrian at the time of a primary collision and preventing fall of the pedestrian to a road surface after the primary collision. <P>SOLUTION: This device S is provided with an airbag 14 deploying and inflating from the vicinity of a front bumper 4 on a front surface side of a vehicle V to an upper side exceeding the height of a hood panel 9 and having a width dimension substantially equal to a width dimension of the vehicle V, to complete the inflation.
