The invention provides a swimming pool installation which comprises a swimming pool (12), a pumping system for delivering water under pressure to the swimming pool (12), and an inlet arrangement which is in water flow communication with the pumping system for delivering pressurised water into the interior of the swimming pool (12), the inlet arrangement being adjustable to permit adjustment of the condition of an inlet stream into the swimming pool (12), adjustability of the condition of said inlet stream being sufficient to alter water movement patterns in the swimming pool (12). The invention also provides a swimming pool accessory (10), and a method of facilitating the cleaning of the internal surfaces of a swimming pool (12) by an automated pool cleaning device.
