<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new discharge capable of solving the problems of not only basic performance including high performance and small size, but also conductivity failure caused by the oxidation of a metal foil. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp (A) comprises a light emission tube (3) having a pair of electrode (2), and a sealing part (4) extended from the light emission tube (3) wherein the metal foil (5) is buried in the sealing part. The metal foil (5) comprises an inside metal foil (5a) buried in the adjoining part of the light emission tube (3), and an outside metal foil (5b) buried in a non-oxidized portion separated from the light emission tube (3), while a non-oxidized region (18) is formed between the inside metal foil (5a) and the outside metal foil (5b). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
