PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic TFT having both high carrier mobility and high durability by molecule designing the organic TFT material useful for a thin film transistor application and using the obtained organic TFT material and to further provide a field effect transistor using the organic TFT and a switching element having the organic TFT or the field effect transistor. SOLUTION: The organic thin film transistor material contains a compound having substitute groups in the fourth place and the fifth place and having thiophene rings at both ends and combining with a conjugate system containing a composite aromatic ring at the second place.
