PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web roll storage cassette capable of detecting type of a recorded medium by setting the web roll storage cassette to a recording device to record properly. SOLUTION: A switch 60 for detecting the cassette is arranged in a predetermined section of a main body case 2 opposing to a sensor part 63c for detecting roll width exposed from an opening formed in a predetermined section of a lower case 11a. When a tip release part of the web roll storage cassette 11 is lifted and reaches a set condition in which the web roll storage cassette 11 cannot move forward and backward, the sensor part 63c for detecting roll width presses down the switch 60 for detecting the cassette to operate the switch 60 for detecting the cassette. A set condition of the web roll storage cassette 11 and width and type of a web roll 20 are detected by operation of the switch 60 for detecting the cassette. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
