<p>The forces acting on the rear axle of a vehicle, comprising a control unit (1) activating a brake system when a limit regarding the longitudinal acceleration is exceeded, are to be reduced in order to avoid a sudden lateral motion of the rear axle. The threshold value for the longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle is determined as a function of the position of the center of gravity of the vehicle. The position is a function of the braking forces, the wheel slip, and the acceleration of the vehicle.</p> |
