A folding portable wireless device where a housing is opened and closed using a bendable sheet-like connection member and which is capable of achieving excellent antenna performance. A folding portable wireless device (100) has a first circuit board (101) provided on a first housing (11), a second circuit board (102) provided on a second housing (12), a coupling section (13) constituting a bendable sheet-like connection member mechanically connecting the first housing (11) and the second housing (12), a flexible connection element (103) for electrically connecting the first circuit board (101) and the second circuit board (102), a wireless circuit section (106) provided on the second circuit board (102), and an antenna element (104) connected to the wireless circuit section (106). The antenna element (104) is placed at a position substantially along the coupling section (13), and the top of the antenna element (104) is placed at the position farthest from the first circuit board (101) and the second circuit board (102) with folding portable wireless device (100) closed.
