PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system with excellent operability by which parameters needed for adjusting an image quality can be easily set in the case that a portable electronic endoscope system integrally equipped with a signal processing means for signal processing image signals from an imaging means is also used as a stationary electronic endoscope system in combination with an external signal processing means. SOLUTION: The portable electronic endoscope 1 has an imaging element 21, a first signal processing circuit 24 generating a first image signal, and a first parameter setting means 15 setting a first parameter data relating to signal processing. An image processing device 2 can be connected with the portable electronic endoscope 1, and has a second signal processing circuit 31 processing the signal and generating a second image signal, and a second parameter setting means 18 setting a second parameter data relating to the signal processing. Transmitting means 27 and 34 have means for transmitting the first parameter data of the first parameter setting means to the image processing device or the second parameter data of the second parameter setting means to the portable electronic endoscope.
