<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision level judging device capable of measuring the collision energy in the event of collision without increasing the cost. <P>SOLUTION: A sensor element 10 is formed as a set of segments S in electrode positions by installing a plurality of electrodes 23 in line on the sensor element 19, and the change in curvatureρ(t) from the initial state in each electrode position is acquired by subjecting the signal from the electrode to a one-time integration with time, and the extra-plane direction displacement velocity v<SB>n</SB>(t) is acquired by subjecting the signal from each electrode to a two-time integral with the in-line direction distance, and thereby the strain energy at the segment in each electrode position is calculated from the change in curvature and then the total strain energy is calculated by taking the sum of all segments, while the kinetic energy at the segment in each electrode position is calculated from the extra-plane direction displacement velocity and then the total kinetic energy is calculated by taking the sum of all segments, and thereupon the vigorousness of the collision is judged using at least either of the total strain energy and the total kinetic energy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
