PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engagement member 48 for a grouping by regulating advancing of containers 4 and 6 from colliding with the containers 4 and 6. SOLUTION: Rotary stoppers 10 and 12 for widening a space between the containers 4 and 6 in each line are provided on both sides of a carrying conveyor 2 for carrying the containers 4 and 6 in two lines. The engagement member 48 engaged to the containers 4 and 6 by advancing and retreating in a conveyor direction is installed on one side part of the carrying conveyor 2 on downstream sides of the rotary stoppers 10 and 12, to be moved at speed slower than that in the carrying conveyor 2. A rotary shaft 16 of the rotary stopper 12 on a side far from the engagement member 48 is installed by being shifted from a rotary shaft 14 of the rotary stopper 10 on a near side. Since the container 6 released from the rotary stopper 12 on the side far from the engagement member 48 is carried slightly slower than the container 4 in the line on the near side, the containers 4 and 6 can be prevented from colliding with the engagement member 48 gradually advancing on the carrying conveyor 2.
