PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism culture medium which can shorten a culture time requiring two days for general live bacteria or 7 days for fungi and gives a good quantitative result in a short time. SOLUTION: This microorganism culture medium is characterized by containing a derivative A' of a coloring source A for producing a colorant by oxidation and a coloring source B for producing a colorant by reduction, wherein the derivative A' is a derivative which becomes the substrate of an enzyme produced on the growth of a microorganism to produce the coloring source A, and the derivative A' and the coloring source B do substantially not develop color in a culture medium, when microorganisms are not inoculated.
