1,168,487. Laminated conveyer belts. SOC. ANON. FRANCAISE DU FERODO. 17 Nov., 1966 [25 Nov., 1965], No. 51617/66. Heading B5N. A conveyer belt for conveying hot abrasive products or materials consists of a plurality of plies or layers of fabric containing asbestos fibres, the inner ply threads being reinforced, and the whole being impregnated with a thermosetting resin to between 2 and 10% of its weight. In a belt consisting of a four-ply fabric the two inner ply warp threads consist of asbestos fibres twisted on a brass core whereas the two outer ply warp threads are devoid of a brass core. The weft threads of all four plies consist of twisted asbestos and polyester or nylon threads The plies may be bound together by reinforced or non-reinforced asbestos fibre strands arranged in planes parallel to the warp thread. The belt may be impregnated, e.g. by soaking, with or without pressure, with a solution of a phenolic resin which may include a modifying oil. A plasticizer of pitch or tar may be added. The resin is cured at about 110‹ C. for five-six hours. |
