PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical reproducing apparatus in which a beam can be made incident on a recording layer accurately in a non-tilt state even in a state in which a beam is tilted for the recording layer. SOLUTION: Left and right both sides of a lens holder 203 are moved to an initial position by applying bias values VL and VR (S102, S107). After that, The left and right side edge parts of a convergence beam are shifted respectively to a recording layer region direction (S103, S108). Slightly before the side edges reach the first layer, pull-in processing for the side edge parts is started (S103 to S106, S108 to S111). When the convergence beam is tilted and either of side edge parts reaches a recording layer region first, this side edge part is pulled in the first layer. After that, the other side edge part reaches the recording layer lately, the side edge part is pulled in the first layer.
