<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor and power saving control method reducing power consumption even when a deep sleep mode is released. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system 100 comprises an image forming apparatus 220, and a personal computer (PC) 212. The image forming apparatus 220 is provided with an operating part 140, a scanner part 10, a printer part 20, and a controller unit 30. The controller unit 30 is provided with a CPU 301, a RAM 302, a network part 310, and a ROM 303. When a print request is included in an information packet received, the CPU 301 gains control so that the deep sleep mode is resumed if a preset first set time has passed after printing without external request; when the print request is not included, the deep sleep mode is resumed after a preset second set time has passed without external request. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
