PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical wire scalpel which has excellent cutting performance for living body's soft tissues. SOLUTION: A medical wire scalpel 10 comprises a single wire 10, and a cutting edge 16 which cuts the soft tissues is formed on the surface of the wire. For example, the cutting edge 16 is formed in a continuous spiral configuration on the surface of the wire 10. The cutting edge 16 can be preferably made by laser irradiation.
