PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding wire excellent in straight advancing property and capable of sufficiently conducting melting of a narrow groove and stirring of a molten pool, and provide an arc welding method using the welding wire. SOLUTION: The welding wire is continuously fed from a wire reel to a weld part through a through-hole, which is made in a wire guide and has a circular cross section. The welding wire consists of a single wire, has a non-circular cross section, and is spirally twisted. The arc welding method using the welding wire is also disclosed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
