PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dynamically changing over a polarity mode of a liquid crystal display to solve various problems caused by conventional techniques. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the liquid crystal display comprises; (a) a step for dividing display units of each column into two or more groups, (b) a step for dividing two or more display units of each group into 1st category display units and 2nd category display units, (c) a step for comparing display data of the 1st category display units with those of the 2nd category display units in each group in each frame period and determining characteristics of each group in each frame period, (d) a step for determining characteristics of two or more columns in each frame according to the characteristics in each frame period of the two or more groups, (e) a step for determining characteristics of display units in each frame according to the characteristics in each frame period of the two or more columns, and (f) a step for dynamically changing over the polarity mode of the liquid crystal display according to the characteristics in each frame period of the display units.
