The guide for wrapping packages with a plastic wrapping band has a U-section frame (11) with a wrapping material outlet aperture. The aperture has opposing side rails (18,19,30) for guiding the dispensed wrapping band and are made of a wear resistant steel. The rails define a gap through which the band can be pulled.
