PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater having a temperature distribution further uniform in a length direction while using a PTC resistance heating element. SOLUTION: Wiring patterns 14, 15 are formed from electrodes 12, 13 formed on a ceramic-made lengthwise substrate 11 in a longitudinal direction of a substrate 11. One end of each PTC resistance heating element 16, 17 is connected to the patterns 14, 15 along the longitudinal direction of the substrate 11, respectively. The other end of each PTC resistance heating element 16, 17 is connected to a wiring pattern 18 extending to the longitudinal direction of the substrate 11 formed by the materials same as those of the patterns 14, 15 simultaneously. The patterns 18, 19 are electrically connected at a junction part 20 at a position apart from the electrodes 12, 13. Thereby, even when there is abnormality in specified spots of the generators 16, 17, since the generators 16, 17 are each large in width, it becomes possible to minimize influence on heat generation and obtain a uniform temperature distribution.
