PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder block cooling structure capable of effectively cooling neighborhood of a combustion chamber and equalizing temperature of a cylinder block inner wall. SOLUTION: An upper deck 7 forming an upper wall above a water jacket 30 is formed with its thickness on a cylinder outer wall 12 side (thickness d4) being larger than on a cylinder block inner wall 8 side (thickness d3) so that the more its portion is close to an outer periphery the more it is situated close to the water jacket 30.
