STARTER GENERATOR FOR VEHICLE

An inexpensive and small-sized starter generator for a vehicle capable of developing both the engine start function and the power generation function of an engine by increasing its maximum torque without increasing the number of turns of an armature winding. The starter generator for the vehicle comprises an armature core around which the armature winding is wrapped, a claw pole type rotor core disposed on the inner peripheral side of the armature core, and a rotor having a field winding wrapped around the claw pole type rotor core on the inner peripheral side of claw-like magnetic poles. The starter generator also comprises the engine start function for starting the engine and the power generation function. Then, permanent magnets are disposed between the adjacent claw-like magnetic poles.
