<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a coloring part from being seen blackish in a projection image while utilizing highlight effect of a white component due to a white segment. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes an optical engine projecting video light in time division of each color by using a color foil including a light source, a digital micro-mirror device panel and the white segment; and a panel drive device for outputting R, G and B signals to the digital micro-mirror device panel. A brightness correction circuit 102 performs nonlinear conversion processing in response to the level of a brightness component to a brightness signal component, and a color correction circuit 103 performs nonlinear conversion processing enhancing chroma saturation to two color differential signal components. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
