<p>The invention relates to a steel foundry slag aggregate, a process and installation for obtaining the aggregate. The aggregate has a calcium hydroxide content ranging from 2.5 to 7%, 2 ... 4% ferromagntic particles, 18 ... 21 mg/l sulphur and a basic pH ranging from 11.5 to 12. According to the invention, the process starts by abundantly spraying the slag dump with 20 ... 30 l of water, on each square meter, the operation being repeated every 15 ... 20 days and being continued for 5 ... 6 months in order to facilitate the chemical reactions after which all the slag components remain stable. After 8 ... 10 months the aged slag is sorted by successive operations for removing large masses, after each sorting/sieving operation there being aimed at magnetically separating the material rich in iron, existant in the slag. The installation claimed by the invention is provided with bunkers (1 and 11), a metal sensor (13) for detecting the metals and an electrical tackle (14). The displacement of the slag between the equipments is carried out by means of some belt conveyors (4, 6 .... 48) and by means of some vibrator conveyors (3, 7 ... 36), which bring it in front of some electromagnetic separators (8, 18, 23 and 34), being then discharged into crushers (15 and 27) and then sorted.</p> |
