PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which transfers data to a server using a radio function, by handling various kinds of pieces of information data on the periphery of the portable terminal that includes not only character and graphic data, but also image data and the present positional data of the portable terminal. SOLUTION: The portable terminal, connected by radio with an electronic newspaper server for supplying electronic newspapers through the network photographs the object of information collection by an image input means provided to the portable terminal, and transmits the image data to the electronic newspaper server. In the case of this transmission, the positional information of the portable terminal, orally expressed data from an information collecting person, and environmental data, such as the ambient temperature of the portable terminal, are transmitted in connection with the image data. Various kinds of data received by the electronic newspaper server are examined in an editing conference room, and an instruction to the information collecting person, a request for support to another information collecting person having a portable terminal and issuing of an article by the electronic newspaper server are performed.
