PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing implement for a bridge pier or a column, which enables the bridge pier or the column to be subjected to reinforcing construction, mainly, by means of human power of a worker, without requiring huge construction machinery. SOLUTION: The implement is equipped with a pair of strip-shaped steel materials, both the ends of which have joint members, and a connecting implement for connecting the joint members together; the joint members have a plurality of teeth which can mesh with one another; and the connecting implement has a separation length adjusting means which is equipped with a first engaging member engaged with the upside joint member so as to hold the pair of superposed joint members in a sandwiching manner, and a second engaging member engaged with the downside joint member, and which adjusts a separation length between the first and second engaging members. The separation length adjusting means of the connecting implement, which is attached to the pair of joint members, is operated so that the joint members can be slid and meshed with each other, and the pair of strip-shaped steel materials is fastened to the bridge pier or the column.
