摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibration gyro of a turning for type which is simple ion constitution, easy to manufacture and low-cost. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibrator 1 has a polarization inversion layer of a signal crystal material in which the direction of an axis of polarization (Z direction) is the same, but the material is polarized in opposite directions. When a voltage is applied to electrodes formed on a front and a rear faces of the piezoelectric vibrator 1 in a thicknesswise direction (Z direction), because of the opposite polarizations in the polarization inversion layer, one single crystal layer 2a (or 2b) is extended in a longitudinal direction (X direction), whole the other single crystal layer 2b (or 2a) is shrunk in the longitudinal direction (X direction). The extension and shrink are repeated, by which a flex vibration is efficiently achieved. When the vibrator rotated in the X direction as an axial center while vibrating, a Corioli's force is generated in a Y direction. A shift of the Corioli's force in the Y direction is converted into an electric signal indicating the change of an electric field. A rotational angular velocity is obtained by detecting the electric signal.
