<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To independently control chroma of a transmissive region and that of a reflective region and to increase display quality in a transflective liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal display device is equipped with: a first substrate 4 and a second substrate 12; a liquid crystal layer 8 interposed between both substrates 4 and 12; a color filter layer 10 disposed on the liquid crystal layer 8 side of the second substrate 12; and a conductive layer 11a disposed between the second substrate 12 and the color filter layer 10, and the device has a reflective region R in a region with the conductive layer 11a and a transmissive region T in a region without the conductive layer 11a respectively defined and is constructed in such a way that a plurality of colorless transparent parts 16 are disposed between the conductive layer 11a and the color filter layer 10 in a mutually separated state, and the color filter layer 10 has average heights from the surface of the second substrate 12 to the surface of the liquid crystal layer 8 side identical in the reflective region R and the transmissive region T. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
