PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a color shift of color cathode-ray tube generated by the thermal expansion of a shadow mask in a short time after an operation start by a simple structure without using an expensive material, in a color cathode-ray tube equipped with a mask frame assembly composed by incorporating a shadow mask pressed into a dome-like shape into a frame. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube is so structured that, in the non-operating state of the color cathode-ray tube equipped with the mask frame assembly composed by incorporating and welding in and to the wall 14 of a nearly rectangular frame-like frame 6, the shadow mask 5 having a dome-like principal surface 11 with multiple openings formed thereon and a skirt 12 formed into a frame-like shape by bending its periphery, the distance between the skirt 12 and the wall 14 is increased as the shadow mask 5 comes close to the principal surface 11 from a welding point 17 between the frame 6 and itself.
