<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system capable of easily opening its door even after a secondary battery for driving its door operating device become unusable with the door being kept closed. <P>SOLUTION: This electronic key system is equipped with an electronic key 1, a door operating device 2 for opening or closing a door of a car by using the electronic key 1, an onboard secondary battery 3 supplying electric power to the door operating device 2, a power receiving equipment 4 for receiving the electric power from the outside for driving the door operating device 2 during an emergency, and a power transmitting device 5. When the secondary battery 3 is normal and usable, the door operating device 2 is driven by the power supplied from the secondary battery 3. In case of an emergency when the secondary battery 3 is inoperative, the door operating device 2 is driven by the electric power transmitted by the external power transmitting device 5 and received by the power receiving equipment 4.
