FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves removing full-layer segment of lower eyelid and suturing skin with along defect wound boundary from lateral and medial side. The sutured defect edges are taken on holders. Horizontal flaps are cut along defect edge from conjunctiva. The flaps correspond to defect in size. Upper boundary of each flap passes along conjunctiva and tarsus boundary, the lower one is 1 mm far from eyeball. Each flap is sutured. Each flap is stretched by pulling all flaps towards each other using the holders, establishing in this way flap mobility degree. Primary defect suturing being found impossible, additional undercutting of horizontal flaps is carried out on each side. Conjunctiva is sutured and the defect is covered next to it with skin flaps according to local conditions. The method is applied when defect is localized in the lower eyelid region taking 1/4 to 1/3 of eyelid area. ^ EFFECT: accelerated treatment course; reduced risk of injuries and lower eyelid ectropion complications. ^ 1 dwg |
