摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system and an electro-optical device thinner and lighter than a conventional one, wherein an optical sheet can be accurately positioned, and more light from a light source can be stably supplied to an electro-optical panel, and an electronic apparatus using the elctro-optical device. <P>SOLUTION: Since a light guide plate 34 has projecting parts 48a, 48b capable of positioning a prism sheet 35 forming the optical sheets on its both sides, respectively, with the projecting parts continuously formed like a frame of four sides of the light guide plate, the optical sheet can be extremely simply positioned by using the inner walls 50a, 50b of the projecting parts 48a, 48b. In addition, since the light source side end face 52 containing the projecting parts 48a, 48b formed on the side on the light source side has a light-intercepting surface 53 having an area equal to the light emitting surface 41 of the light source 33 or larger than the light emitting surface 41 of the light source 33, more light from the light source 33 can be supplied to a liquid crystal panel 2 by making most of light from the light emitting surface 41 of the light source 33 enter into the light guide plate 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
