Enzymatic preparation of saturated polythioester copolymer (A) (poly(alkanecarbonic acid-co-alkanethiols)) comprises reaction of polyfunctional alkane carbonic acid (I) and polyfunctional alkane thiols (II) in the presence of lipase under agitation at high temperature for a longer period in the vacuum.
