<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable computing device and operating method for radio communication. <P>SOLUTION: The portable computing device for radio communication comprises a first network interface (102) for performing communication with a public wireless wide-area network (WWAN), a second network interface (103) for performing the communication with a local wireless local-area network (WLAN), and a processor (101) for being operated under a control of software instructions (105), wherein the software instruction defines a gateway protocol, and the gateway protocol establishes the portable computing device as an access point within the local WLAN, after the existence of the radio being established in the public WWAN. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
