<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress image distortion due to overtaking in a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: When the image state is determined to be a specified state (YES in any of S103-S106), an image signal composed of two consecutive frames is generated to thereby perform α blending for interpolating the frames (S107).
