PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for an electronic component capable of preventing the problem that the electronic component or a wiring pattern constituting an electronic circuit produces heat and a wiring board is burned upon shorting on the load side. SOLUTION: In this mounting structure for the electronic component, input terminals of a load circuit 10 are connected to the output terminals of a power supply circuit via a driver 6 and a diode 5 connected in parallel with the driver 6, a noise removing electronic element 9 is connected between this input terminal side and the earth side 16, the output side lead 6c of the driver 6 and the cathode side lead 5c are connected to one end side of the wiring pattern having required length, the voltage side lead of the electronic element is connected to the other end side of the wiring pattern 15, and a protection circuit is provided to stop the voltage output operation of the power supply circuit upon the shorting at the side of the load circuit 10 including the electronic element 9. The length of the lead 5b of the diode 5 is formed so that the lead 5b can directly be connected between the output side lead 6c of the driver 6 and the voltage side lead 9a of the electronic element 9 not via the wiring pattern 15.
