PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for warming-up and to assure proper peelability, even with an unfixed image, such as color images, for which the peelability is considered difficult, by efficiently transmitting generated heat to the surface of a heating roller. SOLUTION: The heating roller 1 is comprised of an elastic roller A formed with an elastic heat insulating layer 12 on a cored bar 11 and an endless cylindrical member B laminated with a release layer 15 on a base material (exothermic layer) 13 of a thin film. The elastic roller A and the cylindrical member B are constituted detachably, and in addition, a slight clearance is formed between the elastic roller A and the cylindrical member B. The deflection B 1 of the cylindrical member B, generated by the difference in the inside diameter between the cylindrical member B and the elastic roller A, when the heating roller 1 is rotated by operating the fixing device, is produced on the paper inlet side.
