PACKAGE TRACKING SYSTEM, PACKAGE TRACKING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily retrieve a current position of a package on a delivery route and respond the result in a short time.

SOLUTION: This package delivery system is constituted in such a way that a radio tag 16 in which distinguishing information of a package is written is added to the package and radio tag reader writers 14-1 to 14-4 provided with an Internet communication function arranged on the delivery route are provided. An arrival schedule preparing part 38 of a server 10 prepares passing schedule date when a package arrives at a tag communication possible area of the radio tag reader writers 14-1 to 14-4 provided on the delivery route and holds it. A package retrieving part 40 gives an instruction for reading the radio tag 16 to a radio tag reading device having arrival schedule date corresponding to current date by referring to the arrival schedule date held by the arrival schedule preparing part and determines distinguishing information of tracking package from the result of reading of the radio tag 16 returned from the radio tag reading device to respond a current position of package.
