<p>A tachograph for vehicles has a digital design with a primary microprocessor (4) and a secondary microprocessor, or sub-controller. The primary processor includes a memory, a cipher unit, a processing module and a security system and is linked to the secondary processor, or sub-controller (5) by two connections. The sub-controller is linked to a control panel (22) and to a display panel (25).
