A method for determining the reservoir properties of a solid carbonaceous su bterranean formation is disclosed. The method uses fiel d data obtained from an injection/flow-back test, which utilizes a gaseous des orbing fluid, in conjunction with reservoir modeling tec hniques to determine the reservoir quality and the enhanced methane recovery charact eristics of the formation.
