PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulking agent capable of separating anionic surfactants having the same carbon number of alkyl groups, as one peak in every of the anionic surfactants, by differences of carbon numbers thereof, without separating those by structural differences of branched alkyl groups, and a separation analytical method for the anionic surfactant using a column filled with the bulking agent. SOLUTION: In this separation method for separating the anionic surfactants different in the carbon numbers, a sample containing the anionic surfactants is applied to a liquid chromatography using the column a 1-8C alkyl silyl silica gel as the bulking agent. In this analytical method for the anionic surfactant, the sample containing the anionic surfactants is applied to the liquid chromatography using the column the 1-8C alkyl silyl silica gel as the bulking agent, the anionic surfactants flowing out from the column are measured, and a content of the anionic surfactant having the specified carbon number of alkyl group is measured based on the peak obtained as a result therein.
