PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of providing an image of high picture quality for a user regardless of the resolution and view distance of the eye of the user. SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with a display section which displays an image, a resolution judgment section which judges the resolution of the eye of the user who looks at the display section, a view distance measurement section which measures a view distance as the distance between the display section and user, and an image processing section which emphasizes a high-frequency component of spatial frequency in an edge region of the image displayed on the display section on the basis of the view distance measured by the view distance measurement section.
