PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chewing type toothbrush capable of cleaning the teeth and gingivae of their surroundings by chewing it between the upper/lower teeth. SOLUTION: This toothbrush is provided with a brush base 2 previously curved into a mouthpiece shape roughly modeled after the teeth alignment of the upper jaw and the teeth alignment of the lower haw and formed of plastic. The brush base 2 is integrally formed of an upward brush base 2a and a downward brush base 2b facing the upper/lower teeth alignments. The brush base 2 is provided with a brush part 3 filled with brush bristles 17 in the direction of the upper/lower teeth 21 respectively. A central part on the curved outer face 6 of the brush base 2 is attached with a rod-shaped holder 7 for being grasped with the hand in being used and projecting rearward from the curved outer face 6 of the brush base 2. The upper/lower brush bases 2 are so formed as to adjust the curvature by screwing the holder 7 according to the curvature of the upper/lower teeth alignment in the oral cavity.
