PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, which includes functionality for connecting a transmission card for external transmission of image data with a card interface, holding information associating a type of the card with an individual information data registered in the card, and displaying the associating information, and to provide a control method of the image processing apparatus and a record medium recording the method. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus A comprises an image photographing portion B including a photo-optical system 2 and a photoelectric conversion devices 3 such as a CCD, a signal processing portion C for processing an image signal converted into an electrical signal, and a recording means 15 for storing the processed image data into a storage medium 16. The apparatus includes a transmission card 31 connected through a card interface 12 for transmitting image data to outside mainly. Also, the apparatus contains a control unit 2 having a function for holding information associating a type of the transmission card 31 with an individual information data registered in the card, and displaying the associating information.
