A throttle body has a resin main body (3) in which a bore (7) through which inlet air flows, a shaft section (20) pivotally supported at the main body (3) through a pair of bearing tubes (24), and a valve body (60) with a valve section (4) for opening and closing the bore (7). The valve body (60) is inserted together with the pair of bearing tubes (24) to form the main body (3). In forming of the main body (3), the bearing tubes (24) are urged, with the valve body (60) positioned, in the direction against the flow of the inlet air.
