THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR METASTATIC BREAST CANCER OR RECURRENT BREAST CANCER, WHICH IS COMPOSED OF HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS MUTANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new therapeutic agent for human metastatic breast cancer or recurrent breast cancer.

SOLUTION: A therapeutic agent for human metastatic breast cancer or recurrent breast cancer, which is composed of a herpes simplex virus mutant in which UL56 gene is inactivated. The herpes simplex virus mutant is preferably herpes simplex virus type 1 HF10 strain. First phase clinical tests inoculating the therapeutic agent composed of attenuated herpes simplex virus into subcutaneous tumor sites of recurrent breast cancer in the patients having metastatic breast cancers shows that metastatic lesion is reduced without having harmful influence by virus on patients.
